Uncle Amir's 50th Birthday

Saturday night we went to my Uncle Amir's house in Palos Verdes for his 50th birthday. He called to tell me he's having a party, and when I asked what the occasion was, he totally skirted around the issue and didn't tell me it was for his 50th. He doesn't like to be fussed over I guess. Here is Angelica, Kiana, and Uncle Amir. You can see a little bit of the amazing view behind them. Their house is on the top of a hill overlooking Los Angeles and the harbor, its truly breath taking. Being afraid of heights, I always freak out a little on the steep drive up the windy hill to their house. Back to the party...
My cousins Bobak, Kiana, and Shahin: This little air-keyboard gadget belonged to Uncle Ali about 40 years ago in Iran. It cost $100 back then! So Uncle Ali dug it up and gave it to Bobak and he went on YouTube and taught himself to play Happy Birthday just for Uncle Amir's birthday. He also taught himself to play the Simpson's theme song and Beethoven's Fur Elise. He's only 9.

There were around 100-150 people at the party, 2 full bars, lots of Patron, dance floor complete with DJ and fog machine.

Here's my mom with Cary right before she takes her 2nd shot of tequila. You can't tell in the picture, but it was a double. The food was yummy and their was plenty. By the time dinner was served at 11pm, there was a really long line. After my mom's 2+ shots of tequila, the line was no obstacle and she cut in line 4 times to get food for the rest of us.
The rest of us hung out in the cabana because it was prime seating, and mama bird kept going back for more. We took lots of pictures in the cabana while we waited for mom to feed us.Another round of Happy Birthday performed by Bobak, followed by a round of applause.

We all had so much fun. Thank you Uncle Amir and Angelica!
