Followed by the dungeness crab springroll, avocado, cumin, roasted almond.
This was a special that day. A cavatelli, with truffle, and a cheese I can't remember, but it was really tasty. Cary's favorite.
Jidori chicken, truffled mac and cheese, caramelized onion sauce.
Liberty duck, seared foie gras, cornbread, spinach, lavender honey jus.
Angus rib cap, chanterelles, haricot verts.
Aged mimolette, apple, chamomile foam, juniper shortbread. The chamomile foam really tasted like chamomile. What you can't see is that under the foam, is a little divot in the dish with a spoonful of gelee.
Lemongrass custard, cola, buttermilk, sweet potato- yuzu mochi (so yummy).
Bitter chocolate cream, mozzarella ice milk, elderflower, violet.
Overall, it was a great dining experience, excellent food, and best of all, really great company. Aly and Kenny, thank you for this very special dinner. We will never forget it.

Blessings for the New Year. Everything looks wonderful and the pictures were great. You were right about the unsualness of the servings of miniture plates of an order for everyone at the table. One question was there an additional charge for all the small dishes or was it complimentary?
Good article....have a great week ahead.
Hello Rhapsody- The website has a link to the menu which explains the pricing. Most plates are $8 per person. If you choose to get 8 small plates its $55, 11 is $75, "the gamut" which is 35 small plates is $250 per person. The website is www.sbe.com/xiv , you can also do a search on "XIV by Michael Mina". Let me know if you end up going and how you liked it. The staff and ambiance is great, I forgot to mention. Happy New Year!
Although from different places, but this perception is consistent, which is relatively rare point!
